“If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor.”
— Bishop Desmond Tutu
The primary struggle for reproductive justice is very local.
Our Affiliates are on the ground and working to counter major threats to a woman’s self-determination, while also working to improve access to reproductive healthcare. People of many faiths work together through the lens of their own traditions to make sure that people have the knowledge and resources they need to make the best decisions possible regarding their reproductive lives.
- implement reproductive justice advocacy, education, and community service
- promote RCRC programming such as Clergy for Choice and Spiritual Youth for Reproductive Freedom at the community and state level
- coordinate efforts with various faith communities to promote and protect reproductive justice
- have access to RCRC resources to facilitate education on various faith traditions’ positions on sex, sexuality, reproduction, contraception and abortion
No matter where in the country you are, there are opportunities to get involved with RCRC and connect with others who are passionate about the intersections of faith and reproductive justice.
We invite you to become an active part of an RCRC affiliate or network in your state. Don’t despair if your state is not listed! It’s possible that we are doing work close to where you live, even if we don’t have an Affiliate nearby. We also have grassroots communities in Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and South Carolina. To find out about RCRC’s work in your state, please email us or call 202-628-7700.
