RCRC DEPLORES EASTER TERRORIST ATTACKS IN SRI LANKA

In response to the suicide bombings in Sri Lanka over the Easter holiday, the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice (RCRC) released the following statement:

“Once again, the world watched in horror as terrorists took aim at innocent families at prayer—this time in three churches in Sri Lanka during Easter Sunday services. RCRC mourns the more than 300 lives lost and the countless injuries resulting from bombing attacks at churches and hotels. The brutality of this violence cast a pall over a Christian holy day meant to symbolize that love is stronger than death.

Our coalition represents people of many faiths who share the vision our various religions call on us to pursue — a world of justice and peace for all around the globe.

As we grieve the loss of innocent lives, we decry the hatred and violence, perpetrated in the name of religion, represented by this unconscionable act. Still, we refuse to succumb to despair and hopelessness. Rather, we pledge to redouble our efforts to strengthen the bonds of understanding and our pursuit of justice for all people.
